Fitting notes - The CX400 shares the same monocoque carbon construction as the CX403, where the upper wraps around an integrated carbon sole and heel counter. Compared to traditional Race Last models, this construction adds fixed internal volume, which may feel slightly roomier than models such as the CX333 in a similar size and width. 

Unlike the CX403, the CX400 incorporates engineered flex through the heel structure, allowing a comfortable out-of-box fit without heat moulding. This creates a slightly less aggressive heel hold while maintaining excellent stability due to the integrated carbon platform.

Made with a heat moldable heel counter and an uniquely designed upper that has enough adjustability to accommodate riders with bunions, deformation, narrow or wide feet, or a high or low instep. The separated panels allow for fine tuning the fit, relieving pressure from sensitive and painful spots on the feet.

Closure - Dual BOA® L6 dials allow independent adjustment over the forefoot and instep. This two zone system enables on-the-fly micro-adjustments, creating a secure, even fit without pressure points. The CX242 is a culmination of all of our experience, advanced materials, and shoe making techniques to make a shoe that offers the best fitting solution for hard to fit foot types. Made with a heat moldable heel counter and an uniquely designed upper that has enough adjustability to accommodate riders with bunions, deformation, narrow or wide feet, or a high or low instep. The separated panels allow for fine tuning the fit, relieving pressure from sensitive and painful spots on the feet.

CX/TX Competition Last - With a profile specifically designed for very high-cadence riding & higher pressure, our Competition last features a more curved profile than the Sport last. The main differences include increased toe pitch & heel lift, a tighter heel & a slightly wider ball girth to allow the foot to expand under high pedalling pressures.

Upper - Fullgrain Ecco Leather or Clarino Microfibre and NuFoam lining with Carbon fibre support panels, which help to maintain a secure fit while adding foot stability. The upper is segmented into 6 independent zones for the most flexible fit to accommodate narrow or wide feet as well as high instep and low instep feet. The moldable heel counter doubles the heel hold for a secure fit. Carbitex Omniflex support panels offer additional support to enhance the closure.

CX Comfort Plus Last - The Comfort Plus last has the most generous forefoot platform of all of our CX lasts. This last will accommodate a multitude of foot shapes and allow for toe splaying. Made for those riders who struggle to find an unrestricted shoe for the shape of their feet.

Outsole - Inclusive of our Lake Race 100% Carbon Fibre Sole for super stiffness and performance. Available in a 3-hole cleat pattern, the CX333 utilises Lake’s patent double sole system. The inner sole is a semi-flexible fibreglass platform, that allows the foot to have ample flexibility at the ball of the foot where the swelling can be prominent, and typically hot spots or numbness would occur. The inner sole is then suspended over the outer rigid carbon sole. This unique system enables us to use an extremely stiff carbon outsole, without sacrificing riding comfort, giving you the ultimate balance of performance and endurance.

Upper - The CX333 comes with a choice of uppers. You can have either Klite Kangaroo leather with a supreme quality leather lining, or Clarino Microfibre upper with Outlast temperature regulating lining. A Carbitex Omniflex arch support panel and a heat moldable internal Thermaform Carbon Fibre heel counter provide you with the most secure fit possible.
